DoubleType

DoubleType is an open source type designer (font editor) that builds TrueType font file.

Written in Java, DoubleType runs on platforms supported by Java, including Windows, Linux, and Macintosh.

Glyphs are stored in XML based file to aid collaboration using existing tools such as CVS.

DoubleType allows efficient glyph design by combining existing glyphs and modules.

There's limit to human memory. I wanted to close the bug originally submitted by david sporn on unicode encoding issue. I knew I've fixed it in the code, and other clueless people were posting irrelevant comments on the bug page.

The problem was I had no clue when it was fixed. Using annotate I figured out it was fixed in r1.2 of TTName.java, which was released in 0.2.1, which is the latest release. Like half year ago.

Replied a support request on built typeface not being applied to MS Works document. My guess was that Word does not approve of a typeface that can't spell its own name.
